Thieves working Manly beach Sydney

Hi All,

A quick warning to let you know that thieves have increased their presence at Manly & Sydney nrthern beaches.
Why do you need a full time job when you can watch a couple of beach goers/surfers/windsurfers pull up and then nick their keys from the beach. Its easy, just wait until they are in the water and just pick them up - even if they are hidden because you've been stalkling them the whole way.
Return to car, drive it away with everything inside - you do not have the inconvenience of having to smash the lock.

According to the cops its changed from an opportunistic crime to groups working the beach looking for a "mark". They grab as much as they can and then split up to various banks to drain as much money out of accounts as possible. Approach a teller and claim that you have forgotton your number but you have plenty of ID to show. Then draw as much money as they can. A common story is that they Are trying to buy a car privately for cash and therefore need to make a large counter withdrawal.

Yes - I know the obvious answer is to get a non electronic key copied from the original and use that as a "wet key". And lock the real keys inside.
