Lads and Ladies,
Just off the wire with the Desel Plant 'hot line'.
They are ahead of schedual with laying the pipe at the moment 'which is good incase of future trouble', not finishing early..... The back filling over the pipe is taking place at the moment at the Northern end of the bay (bestic st).
They dont forsee the need to block off any access to Kurnell as they approach with the pipe laying unit, however 'forsee" is the key word.
At this stage they forecast that the Bestic St water access will be open again in appox 6 - 8 weeks. ![]()
Thanks for the update Tim. It looks like there's an off chance of a bit of a NE this weekend too. Hmmm, where to go, where to go?
One thing to bear in mind, is the stinky river will be pumping out lots of goodstuff at the moment with all this rain we have had lately.
If you are going to sail off that little beach you are pretty much at the mouth of the river. Be cautious of semi-submerged objects that can do wonders for your gear, not to mention catching god knows what. Last time I sailed in the bay after heavy rain I was sick as a dog.
I am tempted to try my luck down South.
I called in to look at 'the bay' this avo, sailable from the little beach for sure, but as laff said..man it looks really dirty.
Now that we're talking about it, of course the green arrows have gone.
Looks like another trek around to Far Kurnell. The tide should be pretty good on Sat too - no mud flats...
Yep.
We should all just meet at Far Kurnell for a coupla beers on Sadurdi arvo.![]()
