Say I want to sail in these westerlies.
Where is a good spot to rig?

Apparently Paradise beach is the go...

Google Earth makes it look quite shallow and maybe weedy

Agreed. Got a weed fin? Just got my hands on one and should get down to there/Sanctuary Point a couple of times next month. When are you planning to?

Yesterday. The wind wasn't getting into Paradise Beach, so I went up to Island Point. The water is knee deep there about 20m out. The wind was 5-30 knots and the water was quite cool

Water level at Paradise Beach is pretty good at the moment. Any more and it chops up pretty badly (depending on what sort of sailing you want to do). Any less and you really need to start considering a smallish weed fin or even a delta.

You'd have to be an idiot to sail at Paradise
