Bit of advice if anyones got a moment.
It's a while away yet but is it worth bringing gear over to Sydney for a couple of weeks stay with the rellies (Picnic Point) - usually head to Thirroul or Wanda for a surf but never see any one windsurfing except by the airport?
limited space so is it worth bringing the 98 freewave and 4.2-6.4m sails!
Cheers
RussH
Over summer its worth bring the gear unless it cost you a fortune.
I used to live in Wollongong. From my experience if its windy you will find guys sailing down at Windang and Warilla. One if the best spots on the east coast of Australia. If its not blowing there, its not that far to go to Gerroa.
Of course you may be skunked by a big ugly high pressure system sitting over Cobar, but if that high moves out to Lord Howe Island you can look forward to sweet nor eastlies and beautiful weather.
Russh, bring your stuff as it's a good time of year - if there's a NE'r blowing there'll be at least 20 out at Wanda.
Cheers guys - sounds as if it's probably worth squeezing it in the camper with all the wife and kids crap, dog and xmas pressies - I can imagine the fuel will a nice price at Hay.
20 out a Wanda - thats the whole wavesailing population of adelaide.
won't be hard to recognise us - we'll be the hillbillies with SA plates!- must get my banjo tuned ![]()
Hey Russh, I lived in picnic point for 25yrs and have been sailing wanda for nearly 20yrs. definatly worth bringing the gear. on days im not working i usually head down to gerroa or shoalhaven heads bout 1hr and half south. well worth the drive for nor east seabreezes.
