Am going down to the south coast this weekend to Jervis Bay. Anyone know whether it works well in a NEster and best spots to launch are? I know seven mile beach fires in a NEster but I get the impression it can be full on down the line wave sailing there...

I am not sure about Jervis Bay launching spots, but I'm sure that it will be fine in a NE. The formula guys race there and I think the usual launch spot is at Vincentia.

I will be going down to Sanctuary Point for the noreasters on the weekend and I expect as usual there will be more than a few people there. It's not that far from Jervis Bay and other than the need to use a weed fin sometimes its a great spot.

For anyone that hasn't been to Sanctuary Point before, this weekend is probably the weekend to be there based on the forecast.

We race from Huskisson (map below, NE is pretty much straight onto te beach). Its a great spot for rigging and to sail from. Works well in a NE, there is reasonable amount of wind chop, not a wave wave sailing location.

About a month ago i launched off callala beach in a 20 to 25 knot N/E.
Some of the best sailing conditions i've had.

Was all alone,,,, the whole of Jervis Bay (north end) to myself.
Until one of the local old boys rigged up and started sailing off the south end of callala beach.
He was flying, and had more than his fair share of style and panache!

IMHO,,,,,, JERVIS BAY IS one of Austaralias best flat water sailing destinations.
Note,,,, callala beach in a strong N/E gets a little shore break.
Particularly with a hint of south swell.

Hussky is the best place to launch if you have a rig that can fly up wind well.
Otherwise, hit callala with your smaller kit.
Also Becroft rifle range on the northern tip of the bay. National park, dirt roads, but great conditions. (turn off is on the right just before you get to Currarong.)

P.s
Hey AUS 666 the pub is still recovering from the last time we destroyed ourselves there.
You,,,, i might add,,,,,, were by far the champ of the husky pub beer challenge.
The fact that you started in the RSL next door might have something to do with your fine form. Hope your leg is feeling better.

I wish mate, I had a knee reconstruction 2 and a half weeks ago so I'm off the water for a few months at least. It makes me cry seeing this wind and not being able to play
And yeah, Normo boys were a bit limp wristed
Have a good sail buddy, see you soon.
