Marmong Poing Sailing Club invites all Lake Macquarie sailors to the first afternoon of its Social Sunday Slalom racing series this Sunday (15/11/09) at Coal Point, starting from 1:30pm.

The racing will be very informal, with a beach start, broad reach out to a mark, gybe, then sail back to the beach. Sail numbers are not required, and you don't need to be a member of the club. This is a chance to have a fun bit of drag racing, and maybe meet some new sailing buddies from around the lake.

All types of equipment are welcome.

The plan is to run a briefing to let everyone know whats going on at 1:30pm, then run some races after that. Sailing will be from the boat ramp at Birriban Park, 380 Skye Point Rd, Coal Point, NSW.

The club plans to run one of these Sunday Slalom races once a month over the summer months.

The forecast for this Sunday looks great, so hope to see you there!

Cheers,

The Members of the Marmong Point Sailing Club

Gday Nick,

You're welcome to bring your wave gear along, and if its not windy enough, I'm sure someone will give you a go on a formula board if you want to try it out.

We will be sailing whatever gear we have depending on the wind. If it blows 30 knots then we will all be on wave gear with you!

In terms of the dates for the rest of the summer, they are tentatively:

- Sunday 15th Nov (this weekend)
- Sunday 27th Dec
- Sunday 17th Jan
- Sunday 28th Feb

Apart from these dates, we also have our regular sailing every Saturday at 1:30pm (wind permitting) at the club on George St, Marmong Point. Usually we race formula up to about 20 knots then do slalom after that. So if its windy on a Saturday and you feel like a sail, come down to the club and see what we're up to.

look forward to meeting you and everyone else on sunday.

cheers

james
