Calling all course racers!!
After a successful season last summer trialling windsurfing with the Formula class, Balmoral Sailing Club would like to invite all course racing windsurfers to come racing with us!
• If you’re a Raceboard rider, Balmoral is an excellent training ground for the up-coming Worlds in November (2016). Just ask former National Champion Justin Lord (AUS-38).
• If you’re a One Design (Wally) rider, this is your chance to get the home advantage for the 40th Anniversary One Design Nationals to be held at BSC in January (2017).
• If you’re an RSX rider, come and challenge yourself sailing in the same waterways where Australia Team sailors often train.
• If you’re a Techno rider, WE WANT YOU! We’re keen to expand our windsurfing fleet and realise that Techno represents the future of windsurfing course racing.
• If you’re just curious about windsurfing racing, come on down and talk to us. BSC is co-located with Balmoral Watersports who have an excellent team for windsurfing instruction AND have Technos on hand!
• And if you’re a Formula rider, Balmoral is the only club in Sydney with regular Saturday racing for the Formula Windsurfer class. What are you waiting for?!
Regular Saturday course racing for windsurfers at Balmoral SC
Regular Saturday Club racing for windsurfers this season (2016-17) at Balmoral SC, begins with the Spring Sprint series in September. The Club Championship and Point Score series start in October.
Balmoral Sailing Club has separate marks and courses for windsurfers and we have our own start.
What do you need to do to get involved?
Simple, three things:
1. Join the Balmoral Sailing Club.
2. Make sure you and your windsurfer are covered by 3rd party property insurance. The easiest way to do this is by joining Storm-Riders Windsurfing Club (or another AWA affiliated windsurfing club) as membership includes 3rd party cover.
3. Turn up! 12:45pm for race briefings (1 hour earlier for the Sprint Series) and 10:45am for Duty Class (once every 6 weeks or so).
Membership forms for Balmoral Sailing Club are available on the website: balmoralsc.com.au
If you are a member of another Australian Sailing affiliated club, please join us for a race or two as a visitor! This might be a good way to get in some training with sea breezes and swells prior to the Raceboard Worlds AND checking-out Balmoral Sailing Club. Visitors who are financial members of another sailing club pay only $10.00 per race.

Also, the AGM for Windsurfing NSW is on 16th August at The Oaks, Neutral Bay, at 7:00pm, so this would be a great opportunity to meet some BSC Windsurfers.
