i'm new to the area and wondering if anyone can recommend a place to get sails repaired. closer to the CBD the better.

not close to town but I had a repair done at Barracouta in Caringbah and it was a superb job, there is Jackson sails on Victoria Rd Drummoyne and then McDairmnd in Gladsville.
The sailmaker on Victoria Rd at Drummoyne is now Ben Gemmel.
it is located between the carwash & whitworths.
much more professional operation that jackson ever was.
i,m an ex sailmaker and long time windsurfer i've worked with Ben Gemmel, top sailmaker if he is closer he will give you a quality job. i also know Brian and Neil at baracouta they also do a great job if you live down that way. these two places are the best in sydney. 
no one in sydney knows windsurfing sails better than the team at BARRACOUTA SAILS 02 9525 7626 . don't waste your time or money go to the best!!!!!!!!!
We do a weekly delivery to Neil at Barracouta so you can drop it on by the shop if you want.

Give Redback Sails a go in the Northern Beaches. They also don't seem to worried about dropping sails at their house in the evening which is great for people who work!
