Hi all,

As some of you may know, two of our fellow windsurfer (Guillaume and Sebastien) are currently participating in the Sydney to Hobart race. They are aboard the Peugeot-Surfrider boat.

Apart from doing well in the final ranking (they are currently first in their division with a bit more than 24hours to go!!), their main objective is to raise awareness for ocean protection. They have therefore partnered with Surfrider Foundation Australia, an association dedicated to the protection of our shores and waves. Their goal is to enable Surfrider Foundation to raise money through their participation in the race.

To date they've raised a bit more than AUD 4,400 and they have an objective of AUD 10,000. If you have a few spare dollars after Christmas and wish to use them for a great cause, any donation to their project/Surfrider would be a bright investment for our environment and the sport we love!

Any donation above 2dolls is Tax Deductible.

For more information on their project, their website is www.protectourplayground.org/ and you can follow them on rolexsydneyhobart.com/ or www.facebook.com/ThePOPteam .

Thanks a lot for your support!

Cheers,

Francois

No its not. Their main objective to score for their bucket list, moreso if they have not done this blue-water classic before, while having an adventure en-route.

No it's not. They are wanting to justify a great holiday (and silence their critics) to which many, many non-yachties do not understand when they return wasted, sunburn and blisters across their faces. Look! - I suffered for a charity!

Which sport is that? Off-shore racing, or wind-surfing? Two very different sports to some, inclusive of yachtsmen.

As I have pediophobia, will someone bring me up to speed on how much a PAYE taxpayer on a wage will get back from the ATO if I donate, say... two dollars?
