Lets hope the law put in place to stop the jet-ski 'hoons'

I was very annoyed by the Jet skis last weekend in Kyeemagh, if they follow the law, doing straight line only within 400m on shore, I won't say a word
Some of them doing donuts close to to shark net.
I guess someonce called the water police. The water police come, they disappear, the water police goes, they come back
Every time I water start now, I have to raise my sail so that they see us.
Sunday is very windy, I don't have so much concentration to watch for them, I rely on my ears to listen to their locations.
A new dedicated complaints hotline, 13 12 36, has been established to make it easier for the public to report incidents
Thats 131 236
Additionally the number for the Botany Bay Water Police is 0418 221 100.Copy it to your phone and ring them.
They are very aware of the problem and do respond.
It would be great for jet skiers to be educated on how to use their craft responsibly. However in my experience it is going to be difficult to do so. I once submitted video evidence of a jet skier doing donuts and revving the hell out of his jet ski at Kyeemagh meters off the beach. A representative of the authority talked to the registered owner of the jet ski and it turned out the brother of the registered owner was riding the jet ski that day. No responsibility taken, along with no further action.
I think we must be mindful of our own behaviour at Kyeemagh too. I have been guilty of sailing irresponsibly there, screaming in at full speed towards the beach close to swimmers or doing (attempting) gybes close to the shore. If no one is around this is okay however if there are people swimming in the water we should try to sail at slower speeds towards the shore once we get past the break wall or around 50 meters off shore. It would be terrible to hit a swimmer with a fin at full speed because they were not seen with the setting sun.
I saw what was almost a new entry in the annual Darwin Awards on Sunday off Bass & Flinders monument, Port Hacking. About a dozen jet-skis going back and forth between Bundeena and Cronulla. Guy on the back of a 2-seater fell off. Several times while he was still in the water, his bro's raced straight back at him at high speed, sharply turning away at the last second to spray him with water. Highly intelligent individuals.
We were standing in the water chatting with our gear and this dude pushes his jet ski into the water and lets drift over our wsurf gear. no damage but kind of remarkable! No eye contact or a sorry! We were looking at each other didn't know to laugh or say WTF bro
just weird
