Damn it! The best Gerroa forecast of the Spring and I have to go up to Port Macquarie to watch the bro-in-law grind his way around an Ironman course.
Does anyone know any spots up there?
Thanks for any suggestions.
DAMN IT!

On the north side, Hawks Nest is pretty good flat water sailing in NE, seems to be a little local effect due to the headland which helps. Launch from somewhere along "The Boulevarde". That's the only spot I've sailed there so there may be other options.
Is the race on the north side or south side of the bay?
174, I think you are confusing Port Stephens with Port Mac.
Around Port you can go sailing in the Hastings River at a few spots like the Town Green and at Jordan's boating center.
Many of the sailors there go down to Queens Lake. We are heading there next week to check it out.
In regards to sailing off the beach I'm not sure.
Thanks guys. Yeah it's Port Mac, not Port Stephens - otherwise I would go over to the Woppa and have a blast.
It's a good point about the race though - it will be cordoned off for the swim - but that's at 6am so well before I'll be up!
Thanks Mobydisc, I'll have at look at the lake.
