Thumbs Up

I had all but given up sailing Longreef in decent DTL conditions. Home of the Sony Surflite etc it was a huge aspiration. I sailed butterbox in some tricky offshore 1 foot waves and had a couple of pretty good sessions down towards the pole but waited 2 years to get NE wind on the Bomby with decent south swell. This week I've sailed it twice late 4:30-6:00 with enough wind and goods sets coming through Monday and Wednesday. It actually was a little mushy with a few surfers to share it with but super fun and head to logo high. Amazing amount of water moves around out there and getting lifted up by the outer peak (not Germans bank but the next bombie in) before taking the drop felt great! My heart rate was peaking wondering if I would get cleaned up by a wide set but I squeaked over each time. So different to Gerroa where everyone can carve hero top turns when it's two foot.
