Just to let anyone that might be contemplating a sail from the western end of Narrabeen Lagoon (Academy of Sport end)in a sea breeze that Middle Creek reserve has been closed by Warringah council until the end of July. they are commencing restoration works similar to what Rockdale council did at the new carpark at Kyeemagh.
BBQ's, showers, better parking and a windsurfer rigging and hosing area (woo hoo).

Obviously the season for sea breezes is nearly over (did we get any this year?) so if you try and drive down the ramp its been fenced off VERY close to the road way. Marty, Chris and I have sussed out easy access just north of the ramp so lets hope the nice coloured arrows promised for this week dont get erased.
Cheers,
Larko.

Do you know if there are plans for parking meters?

We drove by there yesterday and were surprised to see the area blocked off by a big fence.

Surely there will be parking meters, someway somehow the council has to get the money back for the works... I haven't got a Warringah sticker .

Yes I'm feeling the same way. It takes about 40 minutes to get to Narrabeen Lake from where I live and about 45 minutes to Kyeemagh. To get to Kyeemagh tolls of $3.00 are paid for the tunnel and I think $4.50 for the Eastern Distributor on the way back.

I used to drive through the city to avoid the toll but the traffic is so busy and I don't like driving down Oxford Street in my van in the early evening. So its now the ED for me. However last Saturday there was a massive traffic jam on the ED so we got home driving all through the inner city and stuff.

The western park at Narrabeen Lake as its such a great place to have a BBQ and just relax under the gum trees. You tune out from the roar of the traffic and it becomes quite peaceful. The windsurfing can be good there too on a NE wind.
