Hi all,
Decided to get my Mistral sailboard rig out after 24 years gathering dust (but that's another story). After adjusting the sail on the boom (I even forget the correct lingo) the end furthest from the mast has broken.
Any recommendations on where to get it fixed locally? Do you think 'generic' parts will fit this Mistral boom?
I googled and only found Arthur's Sailboard Shop in Port and Byrne's. Any feedback on these two?
Cheers,
Pat
I have a Mistral boom end for sale. It was a spare for Mistral one design.
This should do the job for you. The end has sheaves and ally cleat.
$30
Let me know.... I am in Ramsgate.

I thought I might be able to get just the plastic end.
The width of your end seems a lot wider than mine, I don't think it'll fit.
I envisage just getting the part and pop rivet it in.
Looks like Mistral used some glue substance also in their assemble.
24 years of corrosion and detioration, the other end could do the same anytime.
If your going sailing again treat yourself to a newer clamp on design.
If your patching it up to sell, bin it and let buyer replace.
I had to laugh...
I phoned Byrne's and asked the girl do they have sailboards. She says yes what type of board am I after. I told her I'm after a boom blah, blah. But she kept talking about boards and I'm asking about booms. ??
She then stopped (something must have clicked) laughed and asked are you after 'sail boards' or 'boards on sale' (surf boards)?
I then changed it to 'windsurfer', we both had a laugh and she then said no they don't. I gotta be more precise ![]()
