Hi - looking for some thoughts about polluition and windsurfing on narrabeen lagoon.
Reports on how toxic it is seems to vary from month to month. Does anyone have better access to info or know better?

I have very little experience in windsurfing so wanted to try something a bit less open to the wild ocean, but I've seen some bad reports about narrabeen's health.

thanks.

If you have to ask, probably better to avoid. I think Pittwater is better anyway as it's open to the ocean and less gusty generally and you're still somewhat protected there.

Went past the lake yesterday arvo & there were a few wing foilers out at the Middle Creek end, about 15 knots NE/NNE. Didn't look very clear but never really does anyway.

Water quality? Guessing NB Council does periodic checks if you can be bothered contacting them.

Thanks for those thoughts and information.

Following up, and for anyone accessing this forum in future, narrabeen lagoon water quality looks like it's tracked by beachwatch (dot gov dot au) as "Narrabeen Lagoon (Birdwood Park)"

At this time of writing, the quality is regarded as 'poor' - not recommended for children, elderly, pregnant or immune compromised... eep.

Dont believe all you hear or read.
Lake Dangerous is a good go to spot in NE as the wind funnels down between Collaroy and Elanora Hgts.
Usually a few knots stronger than the ocean. It is very gusty but if you get out early its fine.
Birdwood park is a very shallow weed infested spot with lots of bird life. Self explanatory re water quality and nowhere near the sailing spots.
I was out Friday arvo and it was fun. Couple of fins, couple of wind foilers and the usual water rats, "wingers".
Dont be put off.
