The final showdown is fast approaching so make sure you make it to the Illawarra this weekend! Early forecasts are suggesting a Windang sign-on. As always please keep an eye on www.nswwavesailing.org for the latest. It should be a good one!

For Saturday in the Illawarra:
Seabreeze is calling 13ft waves
Coastalwatch is calling Mix of E swell 3 – 5ft exposed open beaches. Steep increase in S swell to 4 – 6ft possible across south facing beaches during the day
Swellnet is calling Inconsistent E/NE swell to 4-5ft for most of the day at open beaches. South facing beaches building to 3-5ft later
I'm guessing that Seabreeze is talking "face height" and Coastalwatch/Swellnet is talking height of the back of the wave (Hawaiian style)?
Can anyone confirm?
my neighbour works for coastalwatch & they are pretty surf obsessed so I found that to be the most accurate for swell/surf & stacks of webcams to check.
all credit to seabreeze for their wind forecasts but they post swell.
surf seems to have calmed in Sydney from scary to moderate.
