The 2010-11 season is only days away from kicking off.
Heat 1 of the NSW Windsurfing Series will be at the traditional "Jimmy's Beach", Hawks Nest 02-03Oct (the long weekend).
Hawks Nest is family friendly, and Sunday night at the golf club for dinner and the NRL grand final is all part of the fun.
Following on from the success of FE+, there will be separate scoring from the Open fleet.
So dust off any equipment that will get you around the course and rock up.....

Where is the Notice of Series. Just want to be sure the scoring will be same as last years.
The payment window at the site refers to 09-10 series, presume this wrong so paid anyway.
Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas to come! Looks like it will be an awesome long weekend.
We are hoping to get up there for a bit of practice on Friday afternoon, so look forward to catching up with everyone.
Cheers

3 crew out blasting yesterday in 12 - 15 knots of nor easter.
You can catch a glimpse via the coastal watch camera at Shoal Bay.
When it pans around you can count the number of sails and distance dependent... get an idea for how quick they are movinghttp://www.coastalwatch.com/camera/cameras_large.aspx?cam=2750&state=NSW&t=8:06:28%20AM&camName=Shoal%20Bay
There is a 'live' weather feed on here as well but fairly certain it is fed from Williamtown airbase
Looks like there could be some south west to straight south blasting today on the cards !
Yes, that first weekend is upon us again.
Forecast is fantastic, 10-15Kts NE's, it doesnt get much better then that.
Register online at www.storm-riders.com.au, where you can join the club (even though it still says 2009/10 - it is hard to get good help these days!) and register for the series. You can also pay on the day if you wish.
Remember your buoyancy aid and your sail numbers!
Already up at Hawks Nest are Brett, Sam and Uncle Mike, getting in some secret practice.

In case people havent checked it out yet - the weather looks fantastic for the weekend ;-)
Hawks Nest has to be one of the best sailing locations on the east coast for racing.
Open Formula Fleet (2 laps of the course), FE+ (1 lap of the course) and the potential for some slalom racing too.
What a way to start off the season. See you all tomorrow :-)

Crazy weekend! Crazy windy, crazy rainy, crazy drifting!
The 1st event was certainly challenging especially for the race committee.
2 high wind Formula races and 1 full round of Slalom were completed in the end.
Results, report to come...
