This Saturday at Dobroyd Aquatic Club!
As a variation to the NOR, to better fit in with normal Saturday Club activities, the briefing will be held at the club at approximately 1:45pm. I would plan to be at the club by 1pm. Three or four back to back races are planned.
Parking may be an issue early on due to a rowing regatta. There will be parking marshals associated with the rowing, and as club man Greg MacInnes says;
(the marshals) have however been instructed to allow Sailors through to unload, but sadly you might have to park elsewhere, if the rowing trailers have gone you can park on the grass but keep in mind the other classes use the flat open area between the hill and the carpark to rig up, so either park as close to the carpark as possible or if you can get through the maze of boats /cars etc park up on the hill closest to the club, essentially leaving the middle area for boats to rig up.
For sailors who haven't joined the series the entry fee is $10.
The series is currently being lead by Richie Reynolds from Doug Maclean and James Grunfelder.
See you there
!
Result from Saturday's racing. The dark and stormy clouds didn't produce much wind (and rain). Congrats to Doug for the round win and for leading the series.
Note that on reading the series rules we were OK to do 3 races back to back. Also there are no planing/non-planing rules for this series.
Series results (after 2 rounds)
Tricky conditions for the days racing, especially the start line for the last 2 races. Great to have a series event at Dobroyd some great close racing and the beauty of such a shifty place is the race is never over until you cross that finish line! But maybe next year we request a more normal start line.
