Up to 5 races a day - fun!!![]()
Three races were completed on Saturday, with a moderate 18 knot wind fading over the day. Close racing saw a win a-piece to John Doolan, Rhys Herbert & Glen Morrell. Only one race was completed on Sunday due to the light variable winds, however racing continued to be closely fought. Glen snatched the win from John in the last few metres, followed by James Grunfelder and Rhys. James had just returned from the Worlds in Spain the day before so it was a top effort to front up, no doubt suffering from a bit of jet-lag.
Overall for round 1 (with one race drop) there was a three-way tie between Rhys, John & Glen.
The next round of the series is in December at Sanctuary Point.![]()
Great to see the RB guys battling it out. Couldn't believe how close the racing was in the light winds on Sunday.
One request: Get some colour in your sails...Impossible to see you on the water, which is a shame...
See you at the next event...
Looking forward to heading down to sanctuary point in december. The racing all weekend was super tight great to see everyone really pushing to get the win.
Great weekend guys, thanks to all who involved in the organisation. Nice tight racing albeit across a small field. Hopefully Sanctuary Point will provide a bigger fleet.
See you all there.
The final round of the Raceboard series is on this Saturday (March 21st) on Lake Illawarra. Rego from 10am at the Illawarra Yacht Club - western carpark, briefing at 10:30am, and first possible race at 11am.
A maximum of five races and prizegiving afterwards.
Forecast looks good at this stage - it should be a good end to the season.![]()
Hope it went well for you guys this wk end. Looking forward to reading the results and viewing some pics if any are available. Also hope that us Formula guys can share a course and sail with you all a few times next season where possibly?![]()
It was a great days racing down at IYC with competitors travelling from as far as the Central Coast and Canberra. Conditions were marginal planning, good for the lightweights and energetic. Raceboards are looking at a similar calendar next season so I expect we will meet up with you formula guys a few times starting with Hawkes Nest perhaps. Thanks to everyone for coming along and lets drag a few extra friends along next season.
