Hi all NSW Div 2 sailors out there. My shoulder is coming good so I'm looking forward to getting the board out soon, and I thought I'd put some questions out there to Div 2 owners.
If we were to have an unofficial get together this summer would you prefer it to be at a Raceboard regatta or as a stand alone thing?
If it was at a Raceboard regatta would you be willing to commit to Div 2 or would you see what the wind was like?
What is the feeling on sail size? I see the Div 2 as a finesse board so I don't have a lot of interest in piling on a 9.5SqM. I'm thinking of Class B sails or even going full retro back to 6.5 for most of my sailing but do others see it this way?
Or maybe we don't follow class rules for this aspect and just decide on a sail size that everyone would be happy with. At 100kg I have no agenda here, going for smaller sails does not help me out, I just would prefer them.
I guess pumping is another thing, I'm personally against it but...
It seems like Gosford has the most consistent gathering of Div 2 in this part of the world so something there might be a good way to kick it off?

Count me in and Gosford sounds great. We race every Saturday from 1st Sep.
As Raceboard is my primary racing class I'd prefer a separate event. If we started with a gathering one Saturday afternoon we could incorporate with our regular Saturday racing (say 2nd Saturday of each month - we just need to check it doesn't clash with any Raceboard, Formula or foiling events).
As for sails I'm happy with 9.5 or 7.5, as I don't have a Class C rig (and have no intention to purchase one) my preference is class A then B. I'm ok with pumping, too hard to police no pumping and good for your fitness :)
Ill add to the numbers, but need a bit of notice to avoid having my tiga race sink. Ill do what ever is planned. I have a 9.5 raceboard sail. I dont have a 7.5 cam sail, but I have a 7.8 which I would try to sneak in if its a 7.5 limit. Dont worry, I wont be winning.
I might be tempted to get the Lechner out of the shed!
Any sail is fine by me. Well done Jethrow for getting this together.
I'm just amazed you can keep it in the shed. Since i got mine I feel like an 80's porn star. I just can't wait to get her out! ![]()
