Was out sailing the other day at south west rocks, i was sailing in about two meters of clear wated when this dark shadow passed under my non planing board. Even under water this fish's personna was 'dont f**k with me cause im hard' the only problem was i had to tack around it to get back to shore otherwise i would be heading out even further so i tacked, so did he. I have never pumped a sail so hard in my life. Did this stop me from going back out again; no i did what any sane person would do; went a grabbed my waterproof camara and went for another look.
On another note, im sailing yamba and then ballina, byron can anyone recommend any smoothish water spots
Yeah,
I think I saw a shark at SW Rocks once. The fish, I think mullets were running and I saw grey bronzish shape moving in the corner of my eye. It didn't stop me from sailing as it was a great north easter blowing and big swell moving into the bay.
Ive seen many sharks at South West Rocks. Especially Trial Bay where the water is so clear with the sandy bottom. Once I was sailing there and saw several in one day. Makes you really think about the gybes and waterstarts.
The very next day I went down to rig and these fisherman caught 17x 7' Bronzies off the beach! They were packing up as I got there and throwing the sharks on a trailer.
Yamba

edit: Works on any tide but best(flatest/smoothest) at low tide - enjoy!
