Gday everyone,
Just a reminder that the Autumn regatta is still scheduled for this Saturday. Based on the forecast we will be racing formula in a light southerly, which is great for Marmong.
We are planning a BBQ breakfast/lunch at around 11. Look forward to seeing you there.
Cheers
James
Race on Saturday , speed sailing sunday and if anough wind on friday I will go slalom sailing as well have not sailed in two weeks so I will make up for it in three days.
Looking forward to it.
Gday,
Whoever gave my post a red thumb, please PM me your concerns directly.
Unfortunately the rules state we have to give 3 days notice to change the date. So by the time the forecast for Sunday had looked better it was too late to change. The decision to stick with Saturday wasn't taken lightly.
As byron said, lets have a fun weekend racing Saturday then speed sailing Sunday.
Cheers
James
yeah WTF to the red thumbs mate
maybe someone doesn't like formula or something. Looking at the forecast, saturday looks the more obvious choice for formula. I Know what board I'll be riding on sunday and it won't be the big JP SLW 90![]()
The forecast last Saturday was pretty horrible but Marmong got a beautiful breeze, ideal for formula & I used 9.6 (as 11m busted). May happen again, you never ever know if you never ever go!
Cluffy havnt seen you in years next time you are sailing past stop and say hello The rest of you be nice to each other![]()

Gday all,
Due to lack of wind today, the autumn regatta has been postponed for three weeks. Either 6th or 7th April, with date to be confirmed the week before based on the forecast.
Thanks to nathan for a great BBQ today and see you all in three weeks.
PS there will probably be lots of people sailing tomorrow at marmong so we will probably put out a few marks and do some informal unofficial slalom racing.
Due to lack of wind at marmong we moved to coal pt where we should have been racing all along 3 races were held in a BEATIFUL CLEAN CONSTANT 18 KNOTT NE seabreeze . In FE first place was Barry 2nd Geoff 3rd Ian 4th Tom there were no open competitors
On the way home from Marmong I pulled in at the Belmont slips. Must have been blowing a consistent 15-18 knts with 20+ gusts. Rigged the 11m and had a hard time of it. Came in and cranked the downhaul another 2cms (all it had left). Went back out and had a blast.
Also tried out my Garmin etrex 10 for the first time on water. Recorded a best of 41.6kph, which I think is about 22knts. Could have done better except for the chop and swell.
Autumn Regatta will NOT go ahead this weekend (Saturday 6th April or Sunday 7th April).
We will re-schedule for after the school holidays, Stay tuned.......
Thanks to all the members for giving me input.
Cheers Nathan
