Marmong Point Sailing Club Insurance

AWA Insurance become a member of Marmong Point Sailing Club.There are a number of benefits of joining a NSW club like Marmong Point Sailing Club which is affiliated with Australian Windsurfing Association ("AWA"); benefits that include 24/7 Public Liability insurance coverage.
For only $50 you get your own sail number and insurance and then you are eligible to race in competitions around Australia.
You also get to race slalom at Marmong Point Sailing club.
Full Membership is $250 unlimited racing formula and foiling etc.
This is crazy cheap compared to any other sport and you then become a Proud Member of Marmong Point sailing Club benefiting the LOCAL club and racing NSW.
What does this cover? (This summary is prepared by me, a non-expert, and is very general in nature. It's complex, so I've simplified it into dot points, but as you know when dealing with insurance companies, it's never this straightforward.)
Public Liability up to $20,000,000.
Covers AWA and all affiliated entities (WNSW, clubs, members, volunteers etc)
Individuals are covered for any windsurfing activity 24 hours a day except when participating in an organised event not sanctioned by AWA, WNSW, or the affiliated club, in Australia or OS, except the US and Canada.
It does not provide first party personal accident cover (eg I broke by leg windsurfing).
It does provide third party personal accident cover (eg I broke Jamie's leg windsurfing).
It does not provide first party property cover (eg I put a hole in my board windsurfing).
It does provide third party property cover (eg I put a hole in Jamie Packer's boat while I was windsurfing)
There is a $5000 excess for property damage claims.

Summary We live in a world where people seek and expect justice when they believe they have been wronged or injured. Generally speaking, the vast majority of human beings do not seek to harm others, but unfortunately accidents do happen. The cost of defending a protracted injury claim made against you is likely to exceed the resources of even a moderately wealthy person .That is where this insurance cover is most valuable. The AWA Policy has been designed for windsurfers and the risks we face. The cost of membership to an affiliated club in combination with all of the other benefits of joining your local windsurfing club makes joining such an easy decision!
