YP - Young Pete, took some photos from the Long Reef lookout of sailors out at Makaha today. He asked me to post this link to those photos.https://picasaweb.google.com/peterhimself1/LongReef?authkey=Gv1sRgCMeelcuCjefb9wE#5736684336719615826
Good one Albers and YP!
Plenty of guys out today, Andrew Thornton was a standout with his nice wave riding and a few very close backies out at makaha.
Also saw Adrian K, Tim w, Ryan, Stegs, Mark t, Albers, Nick, mark.... , all ripping and loads of kiters also( haha the iPad spell check came up as knitters when I typed kiters
)
I did a bit of gopro vid on the longy side before busting a link on the mount on the gopro, and then did the biggest cleanest fwd on that tack in ages( always the way when the camera is off!)![]()
The blue nude board is at the start and just before breaking the mount and the red evil twin is right at the end after I had a break and managed to reattach the gopro with one less link.
still trying to get the right angle( eg level horizon in one direction). it's a bit of guess work.
Not very exciting but still not vomit material I hope( for those gopro critics!).
I used a camera connect kit($35 from apple)for my iPad and loaded it into iMovie($5 app from itunes)which is so simple to use for anyone who has those gizmos. The camera is the hd2 and mounted with a bike handle bar mount($35 on eBay or camera shop).
You may have to view this on your computer as the soundtrack may get blocked on YouTube on mobiles!
^^^^^^^^
First GoPro video I have seen in a long time where the angle actually works and you can watch without a) being bored after 5 seconds or b) puking all over my keyboard.
Fun day at Makaha! If it'd be like that every Sunday I sure wouldn't complain.
really good video! loved it
the position of the camera spot on.
some guys mount the go pro and film out the front of the board. they could be on a boring speed boat for all we know
