Hi everyone, just a quick note to set the dates for next years trip.
August 1-14 2009.
Let me know if you are interested in coming. I will have accom for up to 12 people for around $750 for the fortnight or $375 for the week. We will have a stable of boards/gear to be utilised- supplied by WSS and will also be organising for people's gear to get to the island the cheapest possible way.
This years trip was fantastic, 11 of 15 days sailed, average sail size 4.7m.

Just got back from a stint on the island and have got to say that Lord Howe Island is pretty awesome, an island paradise in NSW..... wasn't there at the right time for the consistent S.W.ers though still got out there a couple of times ....
Lots of wind all directions all year thoughwould say that winter / spring would guarantee good winds and direction. Take travel insurance as flights get cancelled due to the weather...
A picture perfect lagoon - coral, aquamarine water and a the towering mountain backdrop. Great flat water windsurfing, awesome kiting and some pretty good surfing.

Just thought i would post this here as well for everybody's info.
Hi guys, rental/demo fleet will be roughly this with hopefully some 2010 gear as well. This will be the minimum we will have:
JP FSW - 77, 84, 92, 93(07)
JP supersport - 100, & a 118 or similar style slalom board
sails:
Firefly 5.7, 6.1
Fly 4.8,5.1,4.8
Helium 7.5, 8.5
Hellcat 7.2
Alpha 4.7
Combat 4.2
plus my personal quiver ie whatever I'm not using you can use:
JP 84 FSW 08 pro, 77 Fanatic FW 07, JP Supersport 91 Pro 09, JP Supersport 109 Pro 08,
Lord Howe Aquatic Club - 140L Funride 09, 09 6.4 excess.
This will all be available for between $150-$200 per week on a 'rotational use basis' ie you don't have it for the whole time. Everybody swaps around and tries different things. Also if you are just having a go on things, there will be no charge, however if you don't bring a board and are relying on the above gear to sail, charges will apply.
If you want to have a specific piece of gear for the whole time, you're looking at around $400.
This 'fleet' is designed so people can try different things and have a change up or a change down from their main board which they bring.
As i said, if you did want a specific bit of gear for the whole time, that could be arranged but for $400 p/week.
If you elect to bring your own gear, as the initial post says, for $250 return it's on the island.
