I'm just getting back into windsurfing again and getting set up for Formula..
I have a 2009 Gaastra Vapour board ( ex Sean O'brien) and an Avanti M1 10m.
I weigh 75kg..
Currently I have a Drake Fin that has been modified to lessen the rake a little.
I find it does not seem to have the lift for upwind - can't point very well and tends to spin out fairly easily.. I do tend to sail heavy on the back foot..
So..
What fins are available out "there" and any suggestions on what might be a good place to start???
I live in Qld but am looking to head to NSW for the Formula racing nextr season as much as possible..

Dave, on that board I was using a VMG Blades M70GP in all conditions. Fits really well with that board as it doesn't need a huge amount of lift to get the board railing so I didn't really need to use bigger cutdown fins as we are using now on some of the other brands of boards.
That would be the fin I'd recommend for the Vapor :-)

I am in a similar situation. I have recently bought a Starboard HWR and am looking forward to getting back into some formula racing. I have picked up a VMG G72 but not sure of its characteristics. I will probably buy another fin during the season. What would you buy for this board? I will be sailing with a 10.7 and I am about 80kgs.
Anyone bought a Virus fin? I have a *board 161 and thought that a virus might be a good upgrade for someone on a budget. Keen to hear feedback on performance oand buying experience. Thanks!
