Anyone going to do the Ledge to Lancelin in January 2014, assuming it is still on?

I'm keen, but need to practice open water sailing a bit before next year... 
I would love to go one day, but I am not good enough at the moment. Apart from the ocean I think going deep downwind is terribly hard, that is a skill that needs to be practiced. Are you planning to fly with your kit ? I went to WA 2 years ago, took 2 sails and 2 masts, then rented a car, board and boom. I would love to drive with all my stuff, but it would take half of my holidays just for the return trip...For practice I'm in, we can organize to leave a car at the destination...
2 car tag team is a good idea.
I'll be up for that, as soon as the sun shines and the wind blows...
Alternatively, has anyone done long runs out the back at Wonda?
