I'm starting to see some serious gear being tested and dialed in at Kyeemagh. Its good to see that people are taking their fun seriously. ![]()
In addition to good gear, a little bit of skill also goes a long way. So to help you improve your racing, and fun, I'm looking to arrange some clinics. Please let me know if this is of interest?
Speed is good (and fun) but it's only one of the many factors to good performance in a race. To start with we're going to concentrate on a few key areas that will help with your consistency during a race, these are:
- Getting on the plane quickly and efficiently
- Stance and gear set up for speed (gps used for feedback)
- Getting around the buoy - the elusive carve gybe
- Psychology - losing the negative self doubt
We're going to assemble some of the best practitioners in Sydney for 1.5hr (approx.) clinics in each discipline.
How much is it: Free **** but we may ask for some donations of time and possibly equipment for the clinics, and food / drink contribution to the post clinic social.
If you are interested please PM me your details through Seabreeze or email to des132(at)iinet.net(dot)au. I'll need your contact details and preference for clinic(s)
Just to clarify my post. Each of the 4 areas mentioned will be a separate clinic. So if you're interested you will need to let me know which session(s) you are interested in.
I know that I need them all! ![]()
Hi Des,
The clinic idea is great.
Maybe for the first time I might understand what my harness is for, and relieve the strain in my arms. This will help me immensely.
Look forward to the clinic date.
The Clinic discipline I am going for is the **Stance and gear set up.
Thanks
Great idea!!! I could improve my tacking or on the other hand I could, after 2-1/2 years of tacking, learn how to gybe..........finally
.
After missing out on the good wind today, I hopefully will be out sailing tomorrow so let's have a chat then.
Hi Des,
I think all this is a great idea so count me in, All 4 sounds good to me especially for me being out of the sport for so long!!
I'm not sure we've met yet, I will come say hello tomorrow.![]()
Mattkem, I'll be driving a white Commodore wagon, c u then.
A number of people have expressed interest in the clinics but would find it hard to get there during the week. We'll plan to have these on a weekend but at a location which is not so hectic on weekends. ![]()
