I've finished setting up the KA72 Botany group. It's supposed to be a social group and a bit of fun for anyone who regularly sails the bay.
There's 3 monthly categories:
1) 2 Sec
2) Alpha
3) Hour
I've also setup a monthly handicap leaderboard. The handicap is based on the sum total your 5 best GPSTC scores in 2 sec, alpha, hour, 5x10 and NM. That total is then divided by 5 to get your handicap. This is a good chance for the less speedy sailors to get involved in GPS sailing and battle it out on an even playing field.
For the more serious sailors, I've created both a monthly scratch leaderboard and overall yearly leaderboard.
The group started logging scores at the beginning of Sept. So the yearly leaderboard will not contain the full year's results, but should still be fun to see who ends up at the top by the end of the year.
The good news is, the group allows Suunto and Garmin GPS devices. However, all files will need to be uploaded to KA72 to log a score within the group.
