g'day guys, i'm doing brisbane/canberra in a couple of weeks and want to some supsailing on the way.

just looking at a map i'm thinking - leslie dam, lake coolmunda, pindari dam, lake copeton, split rock resevoir, lake keepit, lake burrendong, lake wyangala and lake burrinjuck

does anybody have any thoughts or experience on any of these locations

thanks

The water in those lakes could be really cold and normally would be at this time of the year. Why don't you take the coast road?

my wife and i have done the coast route a number of times so we thought that a liesurely cruise down the middle would be a nice change.

you're right about the cold water though. sup paddling will be ok but maybe only light wind sailing so i don't embarress myself and fall in

the exploration part is important as well for a return when it warms up

Lake burrendong is an awesome place it's surrounded by big hills so the wind would be disturbed by them. The water is clear as but cold there is a caravan park on the banks and the old gold mining towns of hill end and sofala are nearby and worth a stop in the pub for a drink not touristy very quiet. The road south to canberra is very picturesque country. Well worth the drive through there I loved it when I went that way it's a lovely change from the coastal route. Do it.
