Anybody know of any good places to sail around Yamba/Iluka (preferably flat water). Heading down there from QLD in a couple of weeks. Any hazards to look out for?
Is Iluka side of the Clarence any good in a SE'er?
Would appreciate comments from anyone who has sailed here.

Check out the GTC site. Wineman posted a session from Yamba. Plenty of flat water but watch out for fin eating rocks.

Do a search for "Yamba" change the search date to the 'in last year', you'll find heaps!

Flaaaaaashman,

Yep do the search. Sthly for short runs at Iluka.

N/E just get over behind the wall on Yamba side.
Some of the best long, flat water-blasting you will ever do.

Grumble, grumble....bloody sthly.
Gotta leave in day or two

Iluka Bay is fine in SE. Can launch at end of Denne St or from the front of Sedgers Reef Hotel. Runs are fairly short on a low tide though. Best to trek to Whiting in a NE. Not any good NE flatwater options on northern side of the River. Although I have seen kiters out at the Shark Bay picnic area in a NE. Good luck!

That has to be the best N/E flat water blasting spot on the coast....& it's 2.5km long
