Just noticed a nice little shed for sale.
If some entrepreneurial windsurfer decides to buy.
Can I rent space in the back yard?
Could turn out to be a decent little earner as a windsurfing Club House.
Hey, I got it,,,,,,,,, how about the ,,,,,,, WINDSURFING SHED??????

LOL offers over 2,000,000 is the asking price. and most of thats simply for the land value since its only a 2 bedroom shack.

I can think of a lot better places to live for 2 mil :)

that's just pure greed... that house is no more worth than $900k... I am seriously, I always felt the beauty of that stretch on Botany Bay was more akin to the beauty of Athens Port... plus Kerosene fumes during summer.

I like the pool room, just needs a bit of work. Add a couple of beer taps, jukebox and couple of poles for the ladies to dance on. That would be the mornings sorted till the seabreze kicks in

Hey JJay, was it you I saw you getting some secret practice in, at the north end of Brisbane Water on saturday afternoon?

Beer on tap and pole dancing,,,,,,,,!
Could think of worse ways to wait for the wind to kick in.
Your northern hemisphere social style and panache are obvious character traits my friend.
But no good being pissed drunk and shagged out before getting on the water!
$2,000,000 for that place is stretching it a little. Even if it had beer, poles, and GIRLS!!

Oh and,, nah,, don't think you saw my secret practice session mate.
Well, not unless you have a spy satellite that could zoom into Vassiliki on the south coast of Lefkada, Greece. Was hanging out there getting some post (european) season training in, while my girlfriend visited her families village.
Note,,,,her family have never been to Botany Bay!

Here is a thought. In Greece it is still possible to buy a 4000 sqm waterfront block with a huge mansion on it. On the headland overlooking Club Vass, Island of lefkada, for about 250,000 euros. And for that price you get a guaranteed 20 knot thermal from lunchtime through to dinner time every day! Oh and not even a whif of Kerosene.

Only problem is that it's quite a drive from the Sydney CBD,,,,,,,,

Hey 666, you gonna race at all this season?
Am planning a trip for the Oceanics and heat 5.

Really, would you guarantee it? January to May? September to December?

I'd take that bet...

It's a moderately windy place in summer.. that's all. Most over-hyped wind record in Europe.

OK,,,, so not blowing everyday!
But more often than most places I know, between end of May through to October.
Was there sailing a solid 18 to 20 knots about 12 days ago.
We have 100's of spots such as Vass all over the country. (mainly unknown)
So no need to battle the tourists for wind in the silly season.
Pre and post season sessions are the go! Middle of may through june. Then sep through to mid october.

Parking is not that hard to find. There are no steroid pumped jet ski terrorists to deal with. And no gangs of people smoking bubble pipes while cooking exotic BBQ's for the family of 50 who feel the need to make camp and picnic on your rig.

Therefore not a bad destination to escape the Sydney off season.

Note, Vassiliki is 99% foreign. Mainly Ginger poms and Germans. (no offence Ginger)
Who expect perfection everyday for their hard earned holiday money.
In other words almost no locals.

Anyway, back to the topic,,,,,,,

If travel is not your thing, then do the next best thing and buy on Grand parade.
For a cool 2,000,000 bucks you could have bubble pipe smoking jet ski maniacs parking on your lawn!

for 2 mil you could set up a really nice pad in gerlaton for the summer months then use the change to go live in maui for the winter months ....

exactly! now someone tell me again Sydney's real estate prices are not in the middle of a bubble.

It remains to be seen if Rio, BHP and the big 4 banks (all 6 of which make up 30% of the ASX) can keep the economy here buoyant when everywhere else multinationals are doing it hard.

Have a look at Europe... they still have very large companies going insolvent and laying off thousands on a weekly basis. It's just that the media here in OZ see this as yesterdays news and stopped reporting on it.

So if you have a couple of mill spare cash... definitely buy in Maui, because there are some real bargains to be had there at the moment... or perhaps get something down in Cronulla... better sailing anyway.

Nelson Bay has some give away prices at the moment. Jervis Bay also looks good. People with that second or third holiday property are looking to cut back I guess. But Syd met area is still over priced. Not just the shed on Grand Parade either.

Yes, there is/was a place overlooking Collaroy for that type of money.

I can't knock the potential of the Grand Parade place though:
