Save your money up between now and then. If you save $30 a week it will go a long way to paying the costs for the week. Money is tight for me too but I'm going to try to save up for it. I can't commit as I may have work commitments that preclude me from having a holiday at this time.

Can you advise the "expected" proficiency level to attend...At present I am currently a beginner but providing I get lots of TOW between now and then I may progress to at least proficient in tacks etc by then. I am aiming for 3 sessions a week providing the Gods of the 3 W's allow (Wind, work, weather).

Would be an invaluable experience to attend something like this but not sure if I would be jumping in too deep here.

Don't worry about tacking or jybing, you need to be able to use the harness and possibly get planing in the footstraps: if you can do that, you will improve heaps

At the risk of hijacking this post...I have arranged to purchase/pickup a 2nd hand harness tho at the moment its a total waste of time for me....what is the recommended size of the harness lines to use for someone of 6' height...or does weight play any consideration...if so, 90kg.

28-30 inches is recommended by Guy, but preferences vary a lot.You will find endless debating if you search these posts

I figured you'd end up paying to hang out with Guy. I'm sure he's a top bloke and all, but I don't want to spend beer money on hangin out with him waiting for the wind.

at the clinic in WA last year we spent quite a bit of time on land, listening to instructions and practicing moves. You take with you that knowledge and that better understanding that helps you in the next months....

This is an opportunity of a life time. We have wanted to do a Guy Cribb course for years. I can't believe how lucky we are to have him come here. I'm going to save a motza on airfares!

Although almost any standard of windsurfer can benefit from a free ride course, anyone who needs help with carve gybes will be amazed! Guy Cribb isn't just an awesome windsurfer but knows more than anyone else about technique and most importantly how to diagnose what you need to know and how to teach it to you. He saw me windsurfing in a video and could tell what length harness lines I was using (and the brand!!!)

Have a look at www.guycribb.com for any info you need. I looked up the minimum standard for the freeride course and the website says that you should be able to do a basic beach start and have some experience in planing conditions (wind greater than force 4) but no need to have tried footstraps. The free ride course can help with waterstarting, getting in the harness and footstraps, carve gybes and more.

Guy Cribb will teach you more in 4 days than you can figure out by yourself in years! I've already called WSnS and registered for 3 of us. Don't miss out!

I don't care if it's not windy(well....maybe a little) I'm in anyways. You'll learn more on the beach in those 4 days with Guy then you will reading books or watching DVDs for the rest of your life. From what everyone has said that's been to his courses, He's a top bloke that enjoys a beer at the end of the day and has a great time doing it all. I sure hope it's windy but I'll make the most of it if it's not.

....Guy please come to Gerroa, The beers on me.

I think Jervis Bay is a better bet for wind and it is likely to be stronger.

Makes sense to hold it where there is the greatest chance of decent wind..
