Great to see so many NSW sailors registered for the event, especially the Sanctuary Point juniors registering for slalom, freestyle and freerace. Wish I could be there too, but good luck to everyone and bring back some silverware for us!

I will happen to find myself staying in Cairns 9-13th with my wife for a last minute getaway. Is it difficult to get out to Green Island for a day? Is there any sailing gear available for hire/borrow?

No you can jump on ferry and rent gear there.
Hey Guys,
I am going to try and get out there on the 10th (but could go 11th). Is anyone able to recommend who I could contact to hire some gear? I did a quick search and it seems the local beach hire do not hire gear above 20 knots and probably beginners gear. I saw some references to Toody but they may not be doing it any more?? Any tips appreciated.

I got down there last Wednesday. Beautiful day with good wind. Unfortunately there was only beginners gear for hire and there was no demo gear available. Still it was a beautiful place and it was nice to sit on a proteced part of the beach and watch everyone out sailing including the slalom racing. I hope I can get back some time with my gear!!
