30kt SW odd Norah & 30 - 40kt NNE at Nobbys? Squall or a result of where the low has formed?
Yeah, a mate at Toukley said it hit 54 knots at Norah Head today. Street signs down, trees etc. He drove past Canton and said no-one was out??
I drove past Canton on my way back from Toowoon Bay which was a total blowout and there were half a dozen sailors out and a few kiters. That was 10:30. I past one guy riding his pushy with wetsuit on and board strapped on and a sail in one hand.
No probs Donk, I think he went past pretty early to take some pics of Norah getting belted.
That dude on his pushy was keen. Where there's a will, there's a way...
On the Terrigal cam on Coastalwatch on Wednesday I saw an enthusiast trying to launch. He seemed to have no hope, not enough wind at the shore to even step on, and if he did it didn't look like he'd make it through the shorebreak. So I guessed his plan was to ride those waves off the skillion - I could see big righthanders there in the background. Has anyone sailed there?
As for the NE wind direction reading at Nobbys, that was fictitious. I've seen that type of thing happen before.
