I'm thinking of heading to Gerroa for a week in September February and looking for any suggestions on rental accomodation.

Looking for something that is:
3-4 bedrooms (4 adults 2 kids)
Near the beach
In good condition

Ideally I'm looking for a place that is dog friendly (e.g. enclosed yard), we have a well trained dog that it'd be nice to bring along.

Lastly, if there is anywhere that is located that you can leave rigs rigged up that would be awesome, but I know I may be pushing my luck!

Any suggestions?

Go to the websites for either Dick Payne Real Estate, The Professionals or Bevans (all in Gerringong).
Every holiday rental in Gerroa will be through them (unless privately advertised).
All the detail you need should be there.

Google a map of Gerroa to see which street you want. FYI - Burke Pde runs along the beach front. Try something there (can get pricey though). Otherwise some houses in Stafford (next one back) are walkable if its not too far up the hill or along the headland.

There is a caravan park in Gerroa right on the beach and the closest to the sailing spot. This is probably the only place you can carry a rig from.

They have cabins cabins that will accommodate your family and they allow dogs but only in non-school holiday / public holiday periods. There is no enclosed area for the dog so he'd have to be supervised.

Unfortunately the local council are not dog friendly, they don't allow dogs on the beach despite the fact it's a huge beach with plenty of open space.

Every second house in Gerroa is a holiday rental, the caravan park has access to the beach but every where else is a short walk and you need to either wade over the estuary(easy at low tide) or cross the foot bridge. There is access from the boat ramp but the wind shadow from the headland might restrict you from sailing from there, I have not tried but it's only a short walk till you'll be sailing. Check out the Bevans(Gerringong) website, they seem to have a sign on most of them. I'll go for a ride around tomoz and jot some numbers down for you, there is a couple along the water front that would be good. If you want you can look me up when you get here and we'll go for a sail.

Cheers...Jase.

Nice one, thanks for all the info. I'll check out those sites and see what I can come up with.

Regarding dogs on the beach, i was speaking to a local walking his dog on the beach and he said all the signs have come down and he believed it was ok now?? i could not spot any signs where i thought they used to be?? i could be wrong...

the camp site is far from a cheap option, rip off.

You're wrong I'm afraid, I was stopped by a ranger on the beach just a couple of weeks ago. (Unless something has dramatically changed)

As far as I know, the only place in Gerroa to walk dogs without a leash is Black Head point, it's a nice place for a walk and you can walk down to Shelly beach (technically not a dog area, but no one seems to mind).
Or you can walk the dogs on the beach at Shoalhaven Heads if you don't mind driving down to the other side of the beach.
