Ok, so I woke up around 6 am this morning all excited only to find out the wind had all but gone. Actually it dropped off just around sunrise. Bummer. I don't know which forecasters to believe at the moment. Everyone seems to be completely off the mark with their predictions. So all that's left is the good ol' "look out the window" method.

When I took the pics below it was 10 knts from the West. There seemed to be about 20 knts out in the funnel. As I am typing this a bunch of 30 knt gusts have started coming through. No idea how this is going to develop over the day so I'd say if you are keen for a sail today get out on the first body of water you see because who knows how long it will last.

The swell is currently in the 3 foot range. It should improve as the tide is pushing in. But the crazy surf conditions forecast for tonight and tomorrow have been somewhat downgraded. Still, we should see surf conditions similar to August 13 tomorrow albeit with not much wind to go with it.

Bring on summer!

Here some pics. Will try and get some more if the wind improves:

given your regular posts and photos i'm confident of scoring a real NE gerroa at least twice this spring/summer. Work & children (and wife!) are a constant obstacle.

I certainly can't wait for the the next real NEer to arrive. I am getting really tired of that "half ar.ed" attempt of wind called a Westerly. If at the very least we'd get a proper Southerly.

Ok that's it... was going to add an update but the stupid forum system will only let me post a new post...

anyway... so here it goes...:

Update 4:00pm: What's worse then not being able to go sailing when it's on? Not being able to go sailing when it's on and you have a direct view of it. The situation now is as follows:

WSW 25 to 30 knts with some 40knt gusts., swell is now solid 4 foot with the odd over head high rollers coming through. Swell out in the middle of the bay is getting pretty solid but is seems most of it is still rolling past. If you are anywhere near Gerroa and got time I'd say now is going to be as good as it gets here in a SW to W setup.

How do I know? I just snug out and got in a 30 minute session... happy days.

Photos to follow... now back to work.
