Rain Rain go away, come again another day. Was hoping to get a photo up but the rain is coming down so hard at the moment we have a near total white out. Looking at the BOM Radar the rain should easy in the next hour.
Bom is also calling for the wind to go NE and increase in strength to 45 knts by mid morning. It's hard to tell but I would say we have about 25 knts at the moment with a lot of North in it.
Waves are about 2 to 3 foot and seems to a mix between Southerly swell and NEer wind swell. Quality should improve around late morning as the tide swings around.
Anyone thinking about driving down I would say if any of the spots further North work (eg. Corrimal or Warilla) stay there. If you are staying in Sydney check out the Windsurf n Snow gear test on Botany Bay.
I'll do another update (hopefully with photo) in an hour or so.
Bit lighter here at Wanda but cross off so waves look great
3 rigging and 1 on the water
A lot of north in it so true dtl - pity about the rain
just a quick recap of today... what a strange day indeed. Wind pretty much died off around 11am... bummer. Nothing at the Heads or Gerroa.
Decided to spend the rest of the day out with Family instead... We got back to Gerroa at around 4pm only to be greeted by 40 knts and nicely peeling lines with not a soul out. It was pretty much straight N. Decided to go out for a quick one and didn't regret it.
Waves were in the 4 to 5 foot range but wind was zero to 40 and back to zero. Add to that the Northerly direction and it definitely made getting out interesting. All was forgotten though once you got on a wave.
It was a short but sweet session.
Did anyone get out further North? Corrimal? Warilla?

yep sure was a strange day. had a look at Gerroa in the morning but thought it was too offshore so headed to Corrimal. got there around 9am and there wasn't much wind there so pushed onto Sydney as had heard reports that Wanda was very niice indeed. By the time I got there the wind had died at Wanda as well. I was starting to think I was a serious wind curse so moved onto Kurnell where the wind was pretty light also. Rigged up my wave kit anyway and thought I may as well get wet. After 20 minutes of slogging the wind kicked in very nicely and seemed to be switching to NNE. I did some quick calculations and thought I could get a quick session at Wanda and still make it back home in time for family commitments. Packed up in about 5 minutes and tore around to Wanda where there a bunch of guys ripping it up. Got the 5.4 out and had a great session at Wanda. the waves were really nice although I quickly realised I've got a bit of work to do to even get back to my fairly mediocre level of last season ![]()
