Well, that Southerly yesterday never really came through until it was too late. It got pretty windy around 8pm just as it was getting dark. The sun broke through the clouds around 5:30 am this morning but the wind was pretty much done.
On a high note, the continuous Southerly period over the past 24 hrs has brought with it a nice Southerly swell. At the moment it's about head high on the main break. Wind is currently from the NW with 5 to 10 knts. It's supposed to swing around to the East and then North East later today. Let's hope Gerroa will do it's thing and swing it around enough to allow for a sail. A bit hard to tell at the moment.
I'll try and do an update a little later.
A note on the traffic. Yesterday afternoon was a bit like all of Sydney had decided to come to the South Coast. It took no less than 90 minutes to drive from Kiama to Gerringong. You might want to check the RTA Live Traffic web site if you are thinking about driving down: www.livetraffic.com
Photos (including a shot from yesterday):
Yes everyone has left Sydney. Its very pleasant to drive around Sydney now as the traffic is so quiet. This time of year is the best time to be in Sydney.
Ironic as so many leave.
