Well, just a quick update. Wind has been steadily blowing in the 30 to 50 knt range. No waves to speak off but there is a bit of movement starting to build. Of course that could just be the tide coming in.

Went for a sail around 1:30 pm and got hammered by monster gusts. Also saw what was either a very large dolphin or a medium size shark swimming about 2 meters below my board on the way in. It followed me like that for about 20 meters before it turned. Since there was no one else around decided to call it a day at that stage.

Given the long wind period there should be some swell arriving later tonight. It's currently still blowing with gusts well in the upper 40s. I'll try and grab a few photos once the sun is in a better angle.

Update 7:30pm:

Wind has now moderated to a leisurely 25 knts with some 30 knt gusts. Waves have definitely picked up. Will be interesting to see what tomorrow brings.

Photo's of the dolphin/shark?
Photo's of the conditions?
Or photo's of the stain in your wetsuit?
Bet that got your heart rate up.....

I actually never feel comfortable sailing out there alone. Silly I know but I recently watched a pod of dolphins (about 20) hunting a school of fish towards the rocks. It was a total feeding frenzy once they closed in. I hate to think was else hangs around to eat the left overs.
