I go to Sydney every Christmas to visit the family and this year I was thinking about a doing a sneaky trip down south while there. I didn't want to cart all my stuff over for such a short trip and just wondering what hire options are available? Probably looking at a 80 to 90 litre wave board and two sails

In a nutshell in Gerro itself... none.
You can try Windsurf and Snow in Sydney. They usually have some gear you can hire. Personally I'd just take my own gear.
