Hi All Friday night Twilight Racing 6pm start
Parking is free at the spit after 6pm but I believe you get 30 minutes grace period so really free from 5.30 pm. but dont quote me in court.
Lots of people are coming over from Clontarf beach. Which is cool

Generally two short races depending on the wind and light then some beers in the club after.
First race is generally scratch then 2nd race on handicap.

All boards welcome, if you can stand on it then you can race it.
See you there

Aloha

Yep, Travellers Trophy still on tomorrow!!! Might be a bit tricky spotting J and his yellow van in the carpark now!

StG are awesome to still host the race
Extra big thanks to the StGSC windsurfers, including R, K, J.

(#1 Sat 16 November StGSC - St George Sailing Club Parking at the Club. Look out for J's yellow van. Lunches available at the Club. Rig on the grass, 1pm arrival for 2pm start, briefing on the beach. NB The Club also races Raceboards and Formula, so all welcome! Thanks to the StG Crew for hosting! Please post a message, or send PM if you need more info.)

Well how good was the sailing last night. SE is definitely the wind for Middle Harbour. The bigger the better.
Congrats to the winners whoever they were as I was so far behind that I had know idea who won. i think it was a toss up between the Raceboard Kid and the honourable Westy but They were packed up showered and drinking beer as I dragged my sorry ass over the line. I dont even think the venerable Tinny recorded my time which is cool by me.
I sailed the Wally One design last night and cant remember going that fast on one of those tanks in years. I was hooked in for longer than I can remember. Great times and that is why we do this sport for rides like that.
I also got some great advice from experts on how to get one of these things going and lots of advice on buying a foiling cat and going back to gardening.
Well we will do it all again next week so see you all there Friday night on what ever floats your boat.

Beer is Good

Aloha

See you there Hugo. Looking forward to a water start line. The Black Dolphin can taste victory. Then again maybe not. Probably the rider will just taste saltwater. (Again)

Well Last night was a crazy breeze. Some handled it better than others. 20knts one second, nothing the next. My board set up was all over the place and I found it really difficult to make ground to windward which was crap as the top mark was straight up wind where i wasnt going. There was also a big and I mean big blue power boat (read ship ) that I almost hit about 4 times as I couldnt get to windward and kept reaching back at them. They were on anchor and the crew looked nervous. Maybe they thought i was some somali pirate and they kept walking around the deck watching me to see that i didnt scratch the duco.
Any way even stranger than my board set up was that I burst a blood vessel in my hand I guess from holding the boom in the gusts, as it was hard to stay hooked in all the time. It blew up full of blood in the palm of my hand near the knuckle joint. Very painful to sail with so i retired back to the club pronto. Still sore today, even so I went for a short sail this arvo just to see if it would inflate again, but all seems OK. Just a bit sore. Any one else had one of these, do they go away? I bet the formula guys get these all the time.

The guys and girls who braved last night were awesome and they handled the breeze like the true champions they are. i think the ships Captain Beat us all in the end.

Its good to see even on crap nights that some crew come down just to have a beer and talk windsurfing. So good night in the bar after.
Good to see Ms Wally made it down for a couple of drinks.
Oh well next friday night is the travellers trophy for the Wally boards but it will be racing as usual and another lesson handed out to me I guess.
Our new Team saying at the club is " I feel the need, the need for a Swede" Get well quickly Captain K

Aloha
