Anyone could tell me if sailing around foreshore road - Botany is ok or too shallow for a formula? I've never been there and would like to try tomorrow.

Thanks !!

It's not shallow, except for the first 20 or meters or so from the shore. However with the port development there isnt a lot of room left for sailing.

I usually sail from Kurnell in a westerly. At low tide you have to walk out a bit, but if the tide's up, you can sail a formula nearly to the beach. It's a great spot to sail from - plenty of parking right next to the beach.

Hey,

Foreshore is great still a lot of room to sail, slalomers are smashing their GPS alongside the airport track and the water is flate as... for freestyle.

Its good in a westerly on a slalom board as you'd be reaching more in your blast along the runway. But formula, going up and down wind - you'd be changing direction frequently!

I was walking my dog there on Sunday and noticed thay now have marker bouys all the way up the bay for boats using ramp. Does anyone know if there are any nasty bits of 'fin grabbing' rope hanging of those??

I went out with the formula last Sunday, rigged at the small carpark before the boat ramp. It's a great place for sailing, apart missing a patch of grass, quite pleasant and not the industrial wasteland I was expecting. I ride the big board as a light wind option, so had no issues with reaching up and down. There are no ropes around the yellow buoys, but someone told me there is a single submerged rock in front of the beach, lucky I didn't hit it ! I'll try and find it next time and get a gps mark.

Strange question, but have all the weird men randomly walking around stopped going there?

As he said Brett, he was only walking the dog!

I think all the bush has gone in the re-build.
