Having moved to Northern Beaches in Sydney from WA a couple of years ago, I have finally convinced my wife and baby about the virtues of a long weekend in Gerroa?.accommodation booked, alas forecast looks rubbish.

Trying to decide on gear to take if any? Any tips re forecast and best places to sail in the anticipated southerly?

Any help much appreciated. Packing the car tomorrow night.

If you manage to get up early on Saturday you should be able to catch a decent sail on wave gear up at Windang. That said it's pretty unpredictable. You could end up with not much of a Southerly at all or it could be 25 knts. Gerroa though definitely won't be any good on Saturday... Monday / Tuesday on the other hand is whole different story.

I would call in sick on Monday if i'd be you.

Since you have left the windy west, be prepared to be working heaps more and sailing once a week - maybe.

On the plus side, you'll be spending more time with your family.

maybe invest in a SUP, or new surfboard, to keep the sanity.

feel yourself lucky... where I'm now based you have to go to another country to get some decent wind and swell... on the plus side it's dirt cheap once you get there and you generally don't have to share the waves with more than one other person. It does get a bit lonely sometimes though.

I would take gear, the sun Is predicted and arrows are from NE, and may be a little south wave coming in. Any thing could happen.

Plus windang as mentioned.

Best way to guarantee wind is leave the gear at home..

There is plenty of windsurfing to be had over here, season has been great, sail the majority of days until the last couple of weeks.

any good yesterday?

I'm sure it would be 25K today, a few out at Wanda this arvo, it's a bit depressing watching the webcam from work.

Yesterday was really light .today started off light but filled in , but as the wind filled in the waves dropped off . Only one broken mast , a young fella I've only seen sail there a few times
