Well campers Seabreeze is showing a very nice NE forecast for next Wednesday. Appears to be Maxing out 20 knots at 6.30 pm, perfect. So it's on, our first fun race.
Please spread the word to the Ludites that don't use Seabreeze (those that have a life). Wednesday 29th October, meet at 5pm for race briefing and then we get cracking asap afterwards. Hopefully two races of 3 heats each, with the 2nd one at 6.30pm.
This is open to all levels, even if you cant gybe. It's a simple course only 3 gybes required (or tacks or swims around the buoys). The more the better, remember it's all about fun. See course below.
Just to expedite the registration process you may want to PM me your details if you definitely plan to be there. Will need the following, Your Name, Seabreeze Tag (optional), Board Model, Sail Model and Colour - for ID purposes. Email & Mobile (optional).
Unless it's ballistic wind your best best for a racing is to opt for your bigger gear. Consistency rather than speed will win the day
If anyone needs more info you can get in touch with me through Seabreeze or em des132(at)iinet(dot)net.au or 0412 262 085. Also Sam Parker at WindSurfnSnow will be providing his expert assistance so I will give him all the details.
Did I mention the prizes. ![]()
1st Place - Stubby of Coopers Green
2nd Place - Stubby of Coopers Green
3rd Place - Stubby of Coopers Green
Secondary prizes to be announced soon, from our sponsors!
Thanks Grant, even with the regular crew, that are usually there, we should have about 10 starters. We're allways racing even though no one will admit it.
If this forecast holds out it will be a fun evening out regardless. Fingers crossed for mr Seabreeze.
Hi team, I've just noticed that the forecast for Wednesday is now south which wont work for the fixed course we have
. But Thursday is now looking good for NE.
Ah the joys of windsurfing.
So let's just keep an eye on things for the next few days and we may have to adjust accordingly.
You can always ask your partner to drop you off at Kyeemagh on the way to Thurs night shopping!
Thursday is better for me, so I have my fingers crossed - but its such a long way out anything can still happen - the forcasts haven't been reliable of late.
Looks like the wind is on again for Wednesday, forecast is like a yoyo. Let's see what it looks like on Monday and we can lock in the day. We want to make sure our first race is a goer.
For those of you that are interested, racing vetran Sam Parker will be there to provide some gear tuning advice. Most gear these days can be made to go fast, so here is your opportunity to unlock your gear's potential.
Giles, not only is there a designated photographer on the beach with a big lens. We were testing the helmet cam today at WindSurfnSnow...seriously.
But someone will need to look like a D head during the race as the equipment looks quite phallic! ![]()
So yes the action will be caught live on the course providing the D head, which will probably be me, doesn't fall in.
We were going to get a chopper as well but we were concerned that this may create dirty wind for competitors. ![]()
That sounds excellent Des. I'm more than happy to look like a D-head with or without the head cam! This racing could become a You-Tube phenomenon.
