Folks,
This is a heads up.

I am hoping to organise a pre Xmas Fun Race, last one for the year, with more of a social emphasis. ie. a bit less racing (and total fun format) to leave time for a BBQ and some drinks.

WindSurfnSnow has kindly offered to sponsor the event with beverages, so it's all go except for the weather .

I don't see any NE activity until next Saturday. There's appears to be a bit on Tuesday but it's a bit close. So unless the weather changes it may have to be next week Mon / Tues, but that could be a bit close to Xmas.

Open to suggestions.....

even just a social get together somewhere for a drink....doesn't have to be sailing involved all the time. Meet at a pub in the city or something like that???

Driving to Sydney sat/sunday - when will you post the final race day as keen to come down for a look - or even a blast if there is enough wind.

(Trying to find out before we leave as I'm just not sure if we'll have internet access while we are there)

Cheers,

Russh

Hi Russh, unfortunately, at this point the forecast is looking crap for the next 7 days. We need a NE breeze (prevailing summer wind) for our course to work.

The wind patterns have been a bit weird lately, westerlies followed by southerlies, when is should be NE'r followed by southerlies. I shouldn't complain, at least we've had wind.

PM me your mobile and I'll text you the info as soon as we announce the race.

Sick Em, having a pure social meet is a good idea however it's often hard to get people motivated to get out when there's no major compelling reason, like wind. Hence I was looking for input.

But of course I'm keen for a pub in the city, as I'm usually at a pub in the city in the evenings ....Hi Jeremy maybe you can organise a gig at you're office - The Whitehorse Hotel.

The windsock outside my office window is looking a bit spritely this afternoon. I just went home and grabbed my gear. Any other punters gonna head out this arvo?

Jeremy, sounds good. Perhaps after the race session and BBq the keen ones can head out to the Whitehorse for more social activity.

Could the White Horse be used as a meeting place for the proposed Sydney social windsurfing club? The only proviso would either be decent public transport or parking for lots of vans and trailers.

You know those pom's they can be pretty radical.

He even did his first loop attempt the other day but the nose of the board got in the way! ....Martin you should understand.

Ah, the Whitehorse. I practically lived there for the first half of the 1990's. Friday nights went off! Lara dancing on the piano

.......yes I understand

Hurting the nose of your board can be painful, particulary if the nose is broken.

I feel with you Jeremy.........as I have broken my nose last Sunday

I guess I should have rigged a little smaller than 6.4. However, I enjoyed the ride.

You guys are in good company! I tried to get my board re decked but the repairer said he had no time, had a whole pile of nose jobs to do, even had to cancel his holidays. Thats what happens when you get some big days. The worst thing is that I managed to stuff mine without even sailing it!
