North Westerlies today. I associate anything from the west with Winter.
No real purpose behind this post, I just like feeling all hippy and in touch with nature and its cycles, and stuff. Yeah...

Like wow man, you are just like completely celestially connected! At one with the universe and everything. Cool.
Your wind based call on the changing seasons was just a few hours off the official Northward Equinox, so allowing for some detrimental time lapse effects from the recreational substances required to get to this level of oneness with the universe, that's a pretty impressive call Panda......
It will be a while before winter takes hold here. Another couple of months, around mid May. Up in the mountains it starts getting frosty on the first of April.
I'm looking forward to some winter westerlies. Hopefully we don't a series of huge high pressure systems sitting over Australia blocking all the fronts.
We get westerlies in summer. Usually they are really hot and are unpleasant days as all the inland heat comes our way.
If you beleive the forecast...temperatures near 30c for the next week and NE'rs Tue, Wed & Thurs. That still feels like summer to me. ![]()
Yes, for me Easter signals the end of the season, but what a great season in sydney. Plenty of wind and waves since October. One of the best I can remember, or maybe it seemed so good because the last 2 seasons were so bad. Anyhow looking forward to 2 Maui trips over winter to keep old age at bay.
Cant believe that sea breezes are still cranking in syd! Ive managed an awesome NE session every week for the past 4 weeks and next week looks the goods to
lovin it. There has been years when sea breezes have stopped early feb. Anyway, season doesnt end, southerlies and sth westers great in syd..... you can have your straight westerlys though..
more NE to come I think. The ocean is 24 deg but I'm looking forward to some cooler mornings at least.
Yep, a pretty good summer season, after 2 duds.
Jetstar $299 one-way fares to Honolulu if you're lucky enough to book it, prob about $750 with food/luggage etc. Lucky guy Robbo. Pipedream only for me!
actually there seem to be some return flights for as little as $550. ($299 out, $233 back)... but yes once you add food and luggage it's closer to $800. Also don't forget you have to get to Maui. If you are luck you can sometimes snatch a flight for $49 one way. Be prepared to pay for excess though if you are taking board. It's not crazy expensive but can run you $200 in total return.
From the 1st of Nov to march 23rd we got 107 seebreezes from the n/east. THANKYOU wind gods its been a gr8 season .we still got winter yet out comes the steamers& booties.
The "season" will end for me when I'm dead
Been having a ball, and another good n-easter due on Weds. Then it's just endless, clean s-west fronts till the n-easters start again![]()
Zac, I was 26 when I did my first Maui trip, and my second one was with you old man and your uncle, so you've got a few years to wait.
