Hi all,
can someone tell me how do I pick the right size of Delta fin? is there an equivalency with pointers or other weedies?
Thanks, Marty ![]()

Yep you look at GPS Team challenge. Check Central coast Maurders and check out what size the are using. I have a 19cm and use it on 92 Patrick which is 59 wide. Most Guys normally use a 22cm for a 69cm wide board. Mick K is a bit of guru on them and happy to give you the brief.
I recently got a Delta 19 for my isonic 97. I am new to these fins, and still getting used to it. I have only used it with a 7.0 RS slalom so far. I would have liked bigger for that combo. Don't expect these fins to feel good. I did not enjoy my sailing on this fin as much as I do with a nice slalom fin. The board does not get lively and power up off the fin like a good slalom fin. Of course I am sure with some kms on this setup I would enjoy it more, but I found myself pretty frustrated with having quite a bit spinout and having to lean way forward to prevent it. On the other side of the coin, where I sailed, I could not have used much else!! The water depth would not have been much more than the fin in places, so standard weedies are out. Some people using custom made fins doing well though. In a pretty ordinary day I was within about a knot of my 2S PB and got an alpha PB as well as close to a 1 hour PB (I stopped about 5 mins early!! :-( ), so despite not feeling great, they do enable you to achieve results you could not achieve without them. I did not feel I got a good broad reach to push the peak speed, but still went faster than I was expecting. I think my board and the 19 Delta with a 6-6.5 in some strong wind would be much better.
Thanks guys, all your comments are much appreciated. I think I'll give it a go trying some different combinations using your advice as a guide. Thanks a lot!!!
