Hi all, just a shout out to anyone up on Central Coast. Just moved up from northern beaches and looking for company!! Whats best conditions up here? Know of toowoon bay, sailed it a bit. Fun wave. If anyone is heading out pop me a pm. Keen for a surf or wavesail.
Howdy all,
Currently up for a week staying at Pearl Beach - almost got on the water Sat arvo at Umina but family duties took over. Looking at the forecast for Wed & Thurs, where is good up here in NW? Is there somewhere on brisbane water that people sail? Will anyone be out Wed or Thurs?
Cheers
Hi DanP.
The forecast wind direction for Wed & Thurs is no good for sailing at Gosford, you could try from Umina but will be offshore.
If I wasn't working I would be off to Peel St. Budgewoi Lake but you need a Delta fin there. What type of sailing are you after?
Thanks for the reply, I don't care what type of sailing. I bought my 103 kode, 6.5 ncx & 5.3 Kult, so can sail pretty much anywhere. I just want to get on the water more than anything.
is there anything eastern side of bris water, around Saratoga for example? I'll see what Umina looks like on the day and make a d about there.
ta.
Dan,
-If it is a bit more SW, Umina near the sand bar is ok.
-If dead West you can try Green Point on Brisbane water (launch at the end of Orana street) . Best if high tide ( which lags by few hours compare to the ocean) to make sure you don't have to walk too much on the mud flat to get to the water
- NW can be ok at Green Point if not too north . I have never tried from Saratoga sailing club but should be ok. I may give it a go somewhere if it is good on Wednesday arvo
Just watch out for the oyster lease between Saratoga and the main channel near Koolewong/Woy Woy.
Never sailed from Saratoga but have accidentally gone across the oysters at high tide.
Thanks for the replies people. I've confirmed a leave pass for a few hours tomorrow so looking forward to a sail. I'll suss out the Saratoga sailing club and green point. I'm considering peel st but that's an hr each way which will cut in to valuable sailing time.
thanks for the help, might see a few of you on th water tomorrow.
cheers
