Hi sue, have a weedy now so might head down Friday arvo. For a westerly, where is the launch spot? Haven't sailed there before.

forecast has changed a few times over the last couple of days,
it maybe a bit of quess when it will blow but it should some
time. I getting another mount for the cam to try some new angles.
i going to try mounting it on a pole in the water & everyone can
gybe infront of it. whats the area like, anyone had stuff stolen
from cars or the beach?.

I have not heard of anyone having anything stolen from their car at Canton Beach when windsurfing there. Its a pretty easy going sort of place but you wouldn't leave a brand new camera or laptop laying around in an unlocked car while you were out windsurfing.

I've seen some dodgy looking gangs of 10-12 year old kids wandering around looking in peoples yards & going into the toilet block ().
One of the guys forgot his boom & extension and they were gone when he came back the next day ( but that could happen anywhere).
I suppose if other sailors are on the shore it would be safe to leave gear but I always tie my boards to the racks or a tree with a bike lock.
Hard to know when to go tomorrow. Planning for an early sail but will watch the wind.
The camera should be safe if its out on a pole in the water at this time of year..brr..

Great yesterday .I expected it to be a walk in the park after the last few full on sails but I still wore out fast. c 20 kts + reasonably consistent.
Rus set up his camera on a pole and we gybed near it..I thought I was going to collect it a few times .I'd go flying in and then start the gybe and concentrate on the exit when I was about 10' from it and hope I'd turned early enough.. It survived.
Be interesting to see if it worked. Took about 1 dozen gybes but finally got 1 that was half decent..

Yes it was a great sail at canton yesty, a bit flatter than
the last few sails there, 6.2 was good. I didnt have the cam
pointing down wind enough so most of gybes finish out of
the shot but the carve looks cool, there is probly 15 of sue &
a few of the other guys there.

What sort of camera were you using?

Will you make a clip to post online?

I have a contour cam, every one has a go pro so i
got the contour. still HD 1080p just dosnt come with any
accesseries, have to buy water housing & extra mounts & has a
smaller profile when mounted than a go pro.
pole mount out in the water is the go, just have to paint pole
bright yellow or orange & a few bouys around it, was a bit hard
to see.
I dont have a you tube account or a program to edit the vids, i tried
to email to someone who dose but they are over a gig & wont send.
